Sideways Spring Cardigan

I have had this little cardigan on my to do list for a while and have been dying to try it out.

I liked the idea of crocheting something in one piece and just having the side seams to sew up.
I found it easy to do but it took longer to make than I would have liked because of the stitch, ribbed  sc where you crochet into the back of the stitch on one row and the front of the stitch on the next.

The sun peeped out from behind the clouds and I ran outside with my little table  (my neighbours think I'm crazy I'm sure)  and took these so here you have a sunbathing cardigan.  I love the pretty spring colours in this yarn,

It did tend to curl at the edges but I did a row of sc all around and finished it off with a picot edging around the collar and that helped.

I used 173 grams of this yarn.
3.75 mm hook
size to fit 18 months.

Find the pattern here

Now I have pounced on this little lot and I'm thinking....?

  1. The picot trim does add such a special touch and the idea of just sewing the seams is really too good to resist! Lovely spring cardi :)

  3. Love your cool cardi Linda - buttons match the stripes perfectly too!
Had to laugh at you running outside when the sun peeps out...I race out with a tray or tin lid of bits and pieces and a tea towel to rest the item on the grass! I do get funny looks when I hand things on trees though. At this time of year I always return shivering with large wet patches on my knees!
Congratulations on making the magazine shelves - great recognition for all you do to inspire!

  6. My neighbor's think I am crazy for many reasons, one of which is taking pictures of my finished projects while hanging from my tree. Love the sweater.

  7. I love it! The colors are so pretty together! I bet you have a big stash of baby clothes by now. If you haven't given them away yet...hang them all together and take picture. Would love to see them all!!!!. I know people look at me funny also for I am always stopping the car or running around the yarn just snapping pics! I even had one lady stop and ask what I was doing and I told her.....now she is a blogger too!

  10. I love your new banner, Linda. Perfect: crochet and flowers. The baby items you make are just so cute. The alternating colored buttons and the picot edge is the just the right touch on this sideways cardigan. I look forward to seeing what becomes of the pile. :-)

I'm still laughing about your neighbors comment. The other day I hung that water container holder on the mailbox - that must have been a strange sight.

I hope your week is going well and have a great day!

  13. What a cute nice little cardigan! It's like a promise to the Spring. And I like your new banner too! It's lovely with the flowers and your little circles. :-D I hope, you can see my comment today. The last two weeks I couldn't comment here (maybe the net didn't connect ...)
One question: Yesterday I did a pattern about a Summer hat I finished last year. Ana suggested to link it with your link party. But I did it last year ... Please give me an advice what to do.
