My first ever Socks!

First of all I would like to thank everyone who has contacted me about the Syrian Knitting Appeal, I have had a huge response, there are so many of you who would love to help and now I am pleased to say I have an address where you can sent your donations, they can be knitted, crocheted or sewn all will be gratefully received. If you would like to help out please just leave me a comment or send me an email and I will email you the address.

Cute Baby Socks

I know they are small but they ARE socks and you make them just like you would big socks.  If there is one thing I have always wanted to do it's make socks, so I thought I would start small and see how I got on.  The beauty of these socks is they are made on two needles so they were easy.  So thank you Marianna for sharing the pattern, you can find it here
If you want an even smaller sock Marianna has a pattern for those too check them out here
Now making those small socks and seeing other bloggers beautiful sock creations (you know who you are) and I was challenged! spurred me on and encouraged me to make more and I can actually ANNOUNCE
I have actually made A sock! and not just any sock, it is an adult sock knitted on a circular needle using the magic loop, you may say so what, well can I just tell you that it's a big deal for me to actually complete a sock.  So where is it? you might say, well I'm saving it to show you when you need cheering up the most because believe me you will never have seen a sock like this one haha it took me weeks to make it and it's the oddest shape ever, now I have to try and make the other to match sooo watch this space, :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

  3. Those socks are lovely and look like they might actually stay on! My daughter was terrible for kicking off her socks and even now goes barefoot as much as possible.

  6. I am SHOCKED that you have never knitted a sock before this! You seem to be able to knit anything, and all so well!! I too have been wanting to knit a pair of socks since I learned how to knit (only a few years ago), so I can appreciate how you must feel about having completed this personal challenge. Congratulations!! Your baby socks look adorable. I hope you post your newly knit adult sock soon so that I can be inspired to give it a try myself! Have a great weekend Linda :) Wendy x

  10. Those are very cute little socks to keep precious little toes warm.
I'm glad Nicole's been encouraging you, her socks are very pretty.
Some socks do look an odd shape when they're not being modelled, but honestly feet are an odd shape!
