Questions Answered , A Child's Cardigan and an Award.

I just want to say hello and welcome to both old and new friends who have joined in with Stash-busting for Stashaholics.  It's lovely to see all your beautiful projects taking their place in the link up...please keep them coming I can see that we are off to a great start.

I have had a few questions about the challenge and though I have answered all by email it seems that some are not getting through so I will answer them here and add this to the introduction so that it can be seen by everyone.

Is it too late to join in ?
No it is never too late, the challenge to bust the stash is on-going and not confined to this year only.
I can't see my name listed.
I am not listing names because there are so many of you, the official sign up is in the comments section here and any blogs that are taking part can be found in my right side bar, you can recognise any blogs that are taking part because they will have the Stash-busting for Stashaholics buttons displayed in their side bar.
Can I still join in even if I don't have a blog?
Yes of course you can, for those who don't have a blog......
  1.  May I suggest that you follow me by email top right then you will receive all of my posts and won't miss out on any updates.
  2. You can still link your projects to the link party even if you don't have a blog, just use the new link method.
  3. If you would like to weigh your projects and give me the total weight in grams each month I will add your name to the totals section here, which I will be updating very soon.
Please let me know if there are any more questions.

Fun Time Cardigan

This little jacket was another one of the things I made and sent to the the Syrian refugees back in November.

You know how I like quick and easy well this little jacket was certainly that.

A very easy pattern to follow and you can find it in a number of sizes too.

I was in a bit of a hurry to get this finished, if there had been a bit more time I would have embellished it with something cute, but the main thing is it will keep a little child snug and warm, I'm hoping it's doing just that right now. :)

Find the pattern here

This what I love about stash-busting when you see the results.

Out of this stash of Aran yarn here....

I managed to make all of these

Now that's what I call a result
almost 1600 grams of yarn busted (I still have some little balls)
and was added to last years totals.

So what's next?
I'm rippling!

and finally thank you so much Susana from The Blue Window for awarding me with the Versatile blogger award

I'm very honoured to receive it.

  1. The little cardigan is so cute Linda! With all the blue/white completed projects together, you can really see how much can be made from what looks like not much yarn. They all look great ... love the colour combinations. Wendy x

  8. The little cardigan is adorable. I will have a look at that because my daughter can always use another little sweater. I happen to be of Syrian descent myself and I really appreciate the help you're giving to the people there.

  11. It's amazing how a small amount of yarn can make so many useful makes and all it takes is a little time and effort and a determination to use what you already have lurking in your stash pile. My problem when I buy yarn is that I tend to overbuy (lesson learnt now I hope) with no real project in mind when I do buy. I am tempted to buy more but I have restrained so far haha. Lovely makes Linda xx

  14. How fortunate that I checked my friend's pages today and I really need to come back and reread this post. I have to put a stickie note on my pc to be sure of it. I have been looking at patterns for toddler sweaters and my friend wants me to make a size 2 toddler one for her grandchild. Now how lucky am I to run across your post this morning! I love the stash busting projects, but finding it increasingly difficult because this friend of mine keeps adding to my stash with her Goodwill finds. Thankfully it is yarn that looks and smells good....yes, I smell the yarn, can't help it when one is hugging and loving it. Thank you for posting and sharing.

  16. Good Afternoon Linda, Isn't it amazing what can be made with a few balls of wool. The little jacket you made is lovely and I really liked the crocheted blanket.... yes I could see that draped over my kitchen chair, ready to keep me warm and snuggly. It looks like your Stashbusting for Stockaholics is going great guns. I am wondering what you will be making with your pink wool...... something for you or something sweet for a little girl.....mmm can't wait to see.
    Best Wishes to you,
    Daphne
