Sweet Lacy Hearts

Cute little hearts to use up those tiny scraps of yarn that you really don't want to keep but haven't the heart to throw away.

hearts, valentines day, crochet,love,patterns

What do you think? do you like them, I know they may be similar to others out there and I apologise if I have copied someone's design but it wasn't intentional, I just played away with my hook and yarn and this is what I came up with.

Instructions are in English terms

  24. Hi, Linda! I tired to make one yesterday, And I guess I got confused in terms, I mean i know tr and dc mean different in US and UK< but...I will try again. One more thing about the pattern, in round 3 you say "... then 1dtr into hdc of last round to form the point at the base of the heart", last round means previous?because then there is no hdc in it.
Thanks! I really want to make at least one of such hearts :)

  30. I love your hearts and I want to make some, but I'm confused on your terms. I assume you are using English/UK not American English. But you have "hdc" in the pattern.

    1. Hi Louise Ann the gook size will depend on yarn thickness, I used dk acrylic with a 3.75 mm hook and and for a 4ply cotton yarn I used 3.00 mm. I tend to go a size down to give a closer texture. :)

  39. Linda, please don't ever take these down. :) They're really awesome and so shabby chic! I decided (45 yrs old) I am keeping my Xmas tree up. I finally decorated my tree shabby chic after 21 years of a mostly bad marriage.I am so happy I get to do things my way :)! And these are perfect! Thank You so very much for sharing!

  40. I am so wanting to make your precious little hearts for my valentine tree.
When making the popcorn stitch is it the typical popcorn stitch (5 dc, join and ch 1)?
Also what type of yarn and hook to you recommend?

  41. I have been trying to make one heart for about three hours, ripping out and starting over and have yet to get one completed. I am determined but am so confused. Your instructions say they are in English terms.
For example what does DT stand for? I also see in the instructions using the UK/Europe/Australia Terms: Example:
into 1st sp ( dc) (dc, htr, tr, dtr) (4dtr) (3dt ) ( 3tr ) (htr, dc) (dc, htr) (2tr, 1ch) then 1dtr into tr of last round to form the point at the base of the heart, (1ch,2tr) (htr, dc) ( dc, htr) (3tr) (3 dtr) (4dtr) (1dtr, 1tr 1htr, 1dc) (dc) join with ss to 1st dc
Does the dc in these instructions stand for a double crochet or single crochet? The 4dtr stand for a double treble? What is DT?

    1. Hi Martha, I can't see where I have written DT, a (dt or dtr) is the same and is a treble in US terms. dc is the same as US sc, when I have time I will add a conversion chart but in the meantime you can find one here..http://www.yarnfwd.com/crochet.html. I'm sorry if I have confused you and I hope you manage to make one in the end. :)
