I'm Back!

Hello everyone and thank you for the lovely comments and good wishes for my trip to Scotland.   I have been trying to catch up with you all since I came back it's amazing how much work has been done in the few short days I was away!

The May link party is now up and running so don't forget to link up your stash-buster projects.

I had a lovely time while I was away apart from the weather of course it was dull and rainy for most of the time we were away but the views more than made up for it.

We stayed in a Log Cabin near to lock Awe which is on the west coast of Scotland.

Misty but beautiful views from our cabin

It was lovely to wake up to see this every morning...

but a little sunshine would have been nice too.

This little chap is looking for his breakfast we did come prepared and brought lots of food for the birds I love to watch them pecking away right outside on our balcony.

Inverary Castle and grounds

We were hoping to see the bluebells but because the weather has been so cold there were no sign of them,  everything is still hiding away waiting for Spring!

 Promise's of things to come

Beautiful Red Rhododendrons bringing a touch of colour to the dull day

My friends dutifully posing for the photo

A peek of the lock in the background

A carpet of daffodils still making a beautiful display

Out of the cold and into the castle

I love visiting these old historic places, I like to imagine myself as lady of the castle...this little place belongs to me you know! do come and listen in while I play you a little tune on my harp.

I have just had this little tapestry thrown together rather quaint don't you think?

Haha come back down to Earth Linda!

I did quite a lot of crocheting while I was away but... I wasn't happy with the result, it was that little something I was making for myself and so it is going to be frogged! It's funny I'm not even bothered I think crochet is marvellous I enjoy doing it just for the sake of doing it even if there is no result...am I crazy?

Maybe I should change the name of my blog to Linda's crazy corner haha, see you all again soon and have a great day !

  1. Dear Linda,

Your pictures are lovely, believe it or not I was in Inverary Castle last year and did a tour of Scotland of which I wanted to do a post but you know, one day soon . . . I have been twice in Scotland in different parts so have lots of pictures to share
You are not crazy, I also love crocheting just for the sake of it. I'm addicted to the hand movements while crocheting and seeing it grow. . .
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip,
    xEva

I guess most of the crocheter enjoy crocheting than bothering too much about the outcome.

  7. What lovely photos Linda, I just love what you have done with 'your' castle...hehehe. Oh to live in a castle, though we certainly would be busy crocheting sweaters for ourselves. I shiver at the cost of heating a castle.

  11. Ah, Scotland looks lovely. It's been a long time since I was there.
I HATE frogging, it makes me so grumpy - I think I'll send mine over to you!

  12. Wow, what a dream trip! The daffodils and and that red are gorgeous...almost makes up for the delayed blue? Castle of Scotland - you lucky gal!

I am currently frogging as well - a pillow for our bedroom. Seems like I cannot keep an even tension. Oh well...it's a relaxing therapy. :-)

Glad you are back safe and sound.

  13. Beautiful photos of Scotland Linda, I'm glad you've had a marvelous trip! I was in Scotland many years ago for my brother's wedding to a "highlands" girl. The scenery was gorgeous on our looooOooong train ride up to Golspie, and we were able to tour around Scotland after the bride & groom left. I love old castles too, but we don't have any here in Canada, just some fancy "manor" type homes. I'm longing to go again on a trip overseas again, and your photos make me long for it even more! Have a great weekend. Wendy

  16. It looks beautiful there - I love the photo over the daffodil field with the bridge in the background.

Nice tapestry you whipped up! :)

I can understand enjoying crochet even when you frog your work. I feel just the same and can spend hours just messing about with yarn. (It's a learning experience.)
