Five on Friday

Hello and happy Friday to you all, I hope that you have all had a great week we have been enjoying some lovely sunshiny weather up here in the usually cold north east of England yes  there have been thunderstorms too but I quite like a thunder storm so I'm not complaining.

This week the North East Group of Loving Hands met at my home I always enjoy these meetings it's lovely to get together with like minded folk. We were even able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine for a change.

Everyone had been so busy in June here are their lovely makes.

Ann gets the job of sewing up any squares that come our way and I think she did a great job making up these blankets, the squares come in all shapes and sizes and it's not always easy to fit them all together.

and if that wasn't enough to keep her busy she made a cute little jacket and used more squares to make a scarf

 Barbara's beautiful makes
a closer look at that lovely waistcoat

Maureen is teaching herself to crochet and is using the 200 crochet blocks book by Jan Eaton to practice and learn new stitches, I think she has done a fantastic job of this lovely blanket

she also found time to make these lovely jackets too

From the left, Barbara, Ann and Maureen
All of these items will be sent to Operation Orphan

This beautiful Hydrangea is the star in my garden this week.

Have a great weekend!

  8. Ann did a great job of joining the squares. I've gotten a taste of that with all the donations we've received for The Secret Garden. Everyone's tension is different and we get all sorts of donations so it's a jigsaw sometimes putting it all together. I've done a lot of extra rows and edging to get things to fit together. It is always so lovely to get together with like-minded folks for a common cause. Glad to see you enjoyed nice weather. Best wishes, Tammy

  10. Please can you help me, I'm loving your dungaree pattern, but I cant find the pattern for 3-6 or 6-12 months, please can you tell me if you have it in them sizes xx thankyou

    1. Hi Aaron no I'm sorry the pattern isn't available in those sizes but it would be easy to adapt the baby dungarees by using a larger hook size and lengthening the legs for the 3-6 month size. I am hoping to make a 6-12 month size as soon as I have the time. :)

  12. Great blankets, baby sweaters and clothes! Oooh, I love that pink one! Everything looks wonderful. We have four of us who get together once a month at church, but we are all quilters....it was open to crocheters too but we haven't had any takers. :-) It's wonderful getting things made for people who need them! Beautiful hydrangea as well!

  15. What lovely makes. The Loving Hands sounds a great thing to be part of. I will think about joining as I craft a lot and will soon end up with far too many handmade products with no where left to place them. Thanks for commenting on my blog. Joan at www.aviewtothefells.com
