A Visit toThorp Perrow

The beautiful Thorp Perrow Arboretum is situated in Bedale North Yorkshire, our u3a photography group visited earlier this month.  I jumped at the chance to accompany them because although I visited these gardens back in 2017 I couldn't wait to see them again. You really can't get enough of the Autumnal splendour. The colours were amazing and I think they would have been even better if we had gone a week later.  We all took hundreds of photos, you just want to capture the beauty and take it home with you.
The gardens are lovely to visit at any time of the year, they have many themed events taking place throughout the year and the Halloween trail is lots of fun, they have extended it since I was there last, there seemed to be spiders lurking around every corner.

What will you be doing for Halloween, do you celebrate?  Happy halloween if you do. 🙂

  4. Although we've seen the signs for Thorp Perrow as we've passed by on the way to somewhere else, it's somewhere we've never been. It certainly looks beautiful at this time of year with all the autumn colour, an ideal place for photography. We don't do much for Halloween, we've already visited Lotherton to see their Halloween trail. We do carve a pumpkin and decorate a little for the benefit of any little ones who come by to trick or treat, we always have plenty of goodies on offer for them.

  7. What beautiful color. Looks like a fabulous place to walk and enjoy nature anytime of the year. Cute idea having the Halloween trail. Hope lots of folks take advantage and enjoy the trail. We don't do Halloween, been too many years since we've had any trick er treaters in our neighborhood. So, I don't bother to decorate or buy candy. I am however wearing bright orange tennis shoes with black leggings and top and a Halloween printed scarf to be festive.

  8. So beautiful. While in NY with my youngest son in March, he took me to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden but it was such a cold and windy and drizzly day. We were freezing. Thank goodness for the greenhouse exhibits where we could warm up.

  9. Oh wow! I missed this, Linda. What beautiful colors in the autumn at Thorp Perrow Arboretum, and how cute are the Halloween installments. That's pretty clever and entertaining. These and pictures like these you have shared make me consider that I really must look into what might be available like this near me. Thanks for the inspiration!
