Thank you for all your lovely comments about my granny sampler blanket and of course thank you for all your good wishes and congratulations for the birth of my lovey little grandson Mikey.
I have more good news to share with you...
I did ask my son and daughter in law if they needed anything making for the baby before he was born but they said no that they had everything, can you imagine how I felt! I had been making and storing baby things for years and placing them in my granny drawer which has spilt over to a suitcase in the loft 😄.
My house has sold and the sale has gone through! it's such a relief as I'm sure you an imagine I was holding my breath until the keys were actually handed over but thankfully it was fifth time lucky and I can now draw a line under it and move on. 😊
There are lots of things to be done to my new house which is always a pain when you have to try to find decent workmen who won't charge stupid prices but I will take it one step at a time and try not to get overwhelmed with it all.
Craft wise I have just completed a little blanket for Mikey....
When the baby was born I gave them this one which I made way back in November 2012......
you can see the post here.
A few days after the baby was born my son asked me if I would make a couple more blankets so that's why I made the Bubbles baby blanket above and I gave them this one too which I had stored in the loft..
Gosh I can't believe that it was 2011 when I made this you can see the post here I can't believe I've been blogging that long either where does the time go.
The Pattern for the Bubbles baby blanket can be found here
I'm still working on my Arizona blanket and I love how it's turning out but more about that later, the sun is shining and I'm going to take advantage before it disappears and give my lawn it's first hair cut of the season. 😊

Congratulations with your grandson ♥ and selling your house! Lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteThe bubbles baby blanket is lovely, also the other crochet ones.
Hugs.
Good afternoon Linda, Oh my word, you are a Grandma.... how wonderful. Congratulations to you... and I am so very pleased that you have finally managed to sell your home. I hadn't realised it was 5th time lucky. I know what you mean about finding people who can do the work which is needed to be done, we have had the same problem. Its amazing when the previous occupants of the house move out, just what you find. We are working hard on our list of things to be done and we are getting there.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented, your crochet blankets are lovely. Enjoy your cuddles with your new grandson and enjoy your new home.
With warmest wishes
Daphne
Congratulation on the new grandson! Im sure everything you made will be cherished.

You make the pretties blanket Linda, I love them all!!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I'm so glad you were able to make things for the baby. That must have made you so happy! Congratulations on your house! I hope all is well with you, take care.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the house sale, Linda! Love the blue baby blanket, very sweet:)
ReplyDeleteYou were successful in luring your son into crochet blankets. Very soon your grandson will also start demanding special designs:)
Congrats on selling the house. If there's no rush to make updates or renovations, then just take it steady as you go. Glad to hear that grandbaby boy of yours required handmade blankets after all. He's very lucky to have such a talented grandma.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Linda! You must be so ready to move on. And still you find time to craft. The blanket is lovely.

What a relief that your house has finally sold, that must be a weight off your mind. Your blankets are all so lovely, I don't think you can beat beautiful hand made blankets for a baby and I'm sure everyone will be commenting on what a talented gramndma Mikey has.
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief about the house sale. As for choosing workmen, it's worth a look at the Age UK website. They have a section where you can search for trades people who have been checked out. Anyone can use the list, not just oldies!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new baby Linda. I love that your son actually asked you for more blankets. Those will be treasured.
ReplyDeleteAll this good news!! Congratulations on your new grandson!! What were his parents thinking when they said they didn't need anything?! They do know you love to knit & crochet don't they? I'm so glad you were able to pass along some lovely blankets to baby in the end. They are gorgeous! There will be lots of other things to knit for the baby as he grows of course. I had a little laugh when you described your 'granny' drawer.
ReplyDeleteAnd you've finally got the house sold!! I'm SO happy for you there! What a huge relief that must be for you. Thank goodness it's all finished with now. Now you can enjoy your new place a whole lot more. Cutting grass?! We still have brown winter grass and the thermometer doesn't seem to want to budge above 0 these days. brrr!

All three blankets are lovely! I now what you mean about time going by so quickly. Sometimes I think of some item I made, and it feels I crocheted it so recent, then I look at my blog and I'm like: Oh, it's been that long?
ReplyDeleteBut it's nice that we have our blogs to archive our crochet projects and share with others.
Oh bless you! New parents often think they have everything they need, then baby arrives and wees or pukes up on everything and they soon realise they need A LOT more! And all babies need a soft handmade blanket or two so they are wrapped in love. Yours are beautiful, I'm so pleased they are being used.
ReplyDeleteVery cute blanket! I am sure your grandson will be very comfy and warm snuggling in it! Congratulations!
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful blanket.
ReplyDeleteYou really can't have too many baby blankets.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the birth of your grandson AND so happy for you that your house has sold finally. You must be very excited. Love the pretty blue blanket and the 'star' one, oh my goodness, it is beyond amazing!

DeleteThat is great news that your house has sold and the sale finalized. Onward to new projects in your new home. The baby blanket is cute. I'm going to be making a baby blanket too, a good friend has just said she is going to be a grandmother for the first time, so thought a lovely little blanket would be a nice gift for her.
