Look what I found.

I hadn't completely forgotten about these pretty little squares but it must be a year since I made them and put them away to start something else.  I have counted them and there are 46 of the little beauties, so after a lot of thought and planning I have decided to make a blanket with eight squares across and down which means I need 64 altogether so that's only another 15 to make.  I have decided to crochet them together and hopefully if my calculations are right the blanket should measure 28"x28" when it is finished.  That should keep me occupied until the new challenges are announced on the 30th......that's just 2 days away better get a move on!

At last I have finished this little blanket, I sewed it all up and then I began to fiddle and once you start to fiddle there is no going back.  I sewed the squares at the back but then decided that a contrast running stitch would look good on the front, that was a lot of stitching, then I decided that little daisy stitch flowers would look good in the corners. So with all the extra stitching and embroidering of flowers it took a lot longer to finish than I first anticipated.

I am hoping that one day I will have a little grandchild to pass this blanket on to.

Its amazing how many colour combinations you can make with just four colours I had a lot of fun finding all the possible colour ways, then putting the blanket together making sure each square was different to it's neighbour.
The finished blanket measures about 28" square and I got the motif inspiration from here
