I have just had a count up and it appears that I have I have five things on the go at the moment. I have discovered my best strategy is to keep doing a little work on everything each day if I possibly can then everything will finish in the end. It's not always easy because if you are like me there is the initial excitement about starting a project but all too often that excitement fades as a another new project steps into the limelight.
There's too much distraction out there too much inspiration, but isn't it wonderful to have a passion for crafting, it's that which keeps me going.
Many months ago I started making a little cardigan for NHAP they were asking for bright cheerful cardigans for children of all ages and this is the finished result
The blanket I'm making for my friend Jennie is coming along, I'm now sure that it will be finished in time for her birthday next Sunday. I'm almost ready to start the border and I'm hoping that I can show you the finished blanket next week.
The sewing is coming along nicely too here is part two of the Festive Forrest CAL candy canes and the birds, as I mentioned before I was having difficulties with the owls face well this I'm afraid is the best I can do, I don't think that it's too bad at least it doesn't look scary like it did before.
Part three is out now and it's the Christmas trees I have actually finished sewing those and am now trying to choose a colour for the little gifts hanging on the tree.
I have also started sewing Stitch a leaf a day I couldn't resist, we are sewing a leaf a day using a different stitch for each one, it's fun because you can try out stitches that you haven't used before so far these are the stitches I have chosen
- Leaf Stitch
- Lazy Daisy
- Fishbone
- Fly Stitch
- Closed Cretan Stitch
- Trellis Stitch
- Button Hole stitch
- Rhodes Stitch

Sweet little cardigan, Linda, so cute and looks cozy too.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking to start the leaf a day embroidery. I am more and more tempted to start when I see the beautiful work being done and this is without a doubt a challenging project in which I will have to learn a lot of new embroidery stitches. For now I'm resisting. Your leaves are very beautiful, well done!
Such a pretty sweater! Fun to try out all those stitches on the leaf project too. You have a good start on your Christmas embroidery. The owl looks friendly!
ReplyDeleteGail at the cozy quilter
Okay, so what stitch is number 8? Your leaves are so pretty. I love all the different colors. The candy canes and birds look great. Your owl is not scary looking, just wise. Some little girl is going to be thrilled to get that pretty cardigan. Have a great week with all of your crafty projects. I know I have far more than 5 in the works at the moment, but I am concentrating on just 3.
ReplyDeleteHaha well spotted Kathy, I have added number 8.

ReplyDeleteI hope little Mikey is on the mend now and that you enjoyed your cuddles. You have some wonderful things on the go, plenty to keep you occupied and interested too. Yes, there's so many things we all want to have a go at, if only there were more hours in the day.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects you are working on. I especially love the little cottage, and your leaf stitchery is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSorry to read that your little grandson has been unwell with Covid. Your work is lovely, nice bright cardigan, and the pretty leaves. Of course we all must have several things on the go at once!
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty baby cardigan you made Linda. The embroidery is just beautiful. You are so talented and creative. I hope you have a nice week ahead Linda.

ReplyDeleteHoping Mikey is feeling a lot better now.
Covid numbers do seem to be on the increase again.
All the best Jan
They are all really lovely makes, but I think the leaf tree is quickly becoming my favourite. Xx
ReplyDeleteThe crochet cardigan is lovely and will make one little girl very happy I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery is beautiful too, you must have a lot of patience with the tiny stitches.
It is always hard to limit how many new projects to start because there are so many wonderful inspirations.
Have you had any more luck with the builder yet? Hoping it gets finished quickly and you have a good week x
The sweater is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I just love your colourful cardi and I'm sure its recipient will be delighted with it. I think your owl looks very studious - just as an owl should. Good luck with your five projects - at the moment, I am struggling to keep up with three - and that's before I start my cross stitch hahaha!
ReplyDeleteThat little cardigan is just adorable. I would ask where you got the pattern but if it was a bit of a mare maybe not!! I love the leaf stitches idea, yours are beautiful.
