One for the boys

Here is the first of my stash buster projects this little baby top.  I thought that I would start out with a top for little boys. Of course it would look good on a little girl too but there are so many beautiful girly things out there the boys miss out.

I love this pattern you can do all sorts with it

The jacket is to fit a newborn, it measures 18 inches underarms.
I used DK and a 4.5mm hook.  The wool I used was quite a thick DK it amazes me just how many different thickness's of DK wool there are.
It took 97 grams of yarn. (yes I weighed it haha )
You could change the size of this of course by just changing hook size or wool type.
Find the pattern here

Stash buster project 1.......yarn used so far 97 grams

  5. I hear what you say about boys! Girls things are so cute, but that does not mean that boys should be forgotten. Your baby cardigan is really nice. The bear buttons and the blue pocket bring out the "cute factor".

  14. Hi Linda - so glad to be encouraged by the 2013 challenge - as you'll see from my post -http://teddywaresandflutterbies.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/woyww-upcycling-experiments.html - I'm already a dedicated upcycler, and love nothing better than making new goodies from my stash. I find it very difficult to limit my flutterby tendencies, and our home is full of 'potential'!! Thanks to you and Ana, and keep up the good work! x

  16. Sweet little jacket! Isn't it the greatest think to make something you don't have to buy yarn first and take money from your pocket? :-)
