Packed Up and Nearly Ready To Go

A big thank you to everyone who has helped to fill the boxes for the Syrian refugee's.


Sent down to London last week and today the Hand in Hand for Syria team along with local volunteers are helping to crate up all the items that have been collected for the Great Winter Drop. I wish that I lived closer so that I could help too.

So what was in the boxes


My stuff, lots of things to show you in more detail later.

Maria is 92 years old and donated these woollen blankets because she can no longer knit as she is blind and has arthritis in her hands.

An amazing effort thank you so much to everyone who has helped, we are now working to fill more boxes for the Big Spring drop.

  1. I feel warm just looking at all those things. I sent some hats and scarves off to Operation Orphan so hopefully they will get to where they are needed.

  3. You put my little effort to shame! I posted ten blanket squares to Lily yesterday. What a great bundle you've gathered together from all your talented friends. It's wonderful that you enlisted the help of the ladies from your day unit ... they were probably thrilled to lend a hand. Everything looks so beautiful, and you know they will all be well appreciated on the receiving end. Well done Linda ... you're an inspiration!! Now I hope you take a brief moment to relax ;) Wendy x

  6. That is wonderful. I hope my bits and pieces that I sent to the appeal in the Red Cross Shope help too. Every little helps. What a wonderful effort from such dedicated crafters truly in their prime x

  7. Well done Linda, you've done a brilliant job. What with your own items, the sewing up of the wonderful Day Unit Ladies blanket and collecting the Loving Hands items. Take well deserved break before starting for the Spring drop - you deserve it !!

  8. Thanks Julie, I was going to take a break but it only lasted a few hours, I have to be doing something or I go crazy, I'm doing some Christmas stuff and preemie hats, nice and easy. :)

  10. WOW!!! That is such a great collection of yarn projects, made with lots of love. It touched my heart to read that even elderly ladies collaborated. This is truly a work of love, and I am sure will be very much appreciated. Wonderful, Linda!!!
