Come Visit Yarndale 2015

I had a great time visiting Yarndale on Saturday all the hustle and bustle it was absolutely teeming with visitors and because there were so many people there it was rather difficult to get any decent photo's you had to sort of jump in and snap while you could so some of them are a little blurry but I hope that you enjoy looking at them anyway.......

Some of last years  Mandalas

Lots of felty goodness this year

So much yummy yarn

This one is for Meredith. :)

The 2013 Bunting still looks amazing

This years flowers for memories can you spot yours? read about them here

This is a rather blurry picture of Winwick Mums sock line, displaying socks that have been made by members of the sockalong, these are all going to be sent to charity, I too had a pair to hang on the line but silly me forgot to take them with me so I will have to send them on instead.  It was lovely to meet with Christine and have a quick chat with her on Saturday in the knit and natter lounge.

Inside the big red double decker bus that shuttles passengers to and from the station it was lovely to see the mandalas hung at the windows and the flowers at the side of the seats
So what did I buy? I was so good even though I was surrounded by temptation all I bought was this yarn....
with socks in mind.

Conclusion ..
Yarndale is noisy, crowded, and expensive, for example this simple scarf below would set you back £40. BUT the atmosphere is amazing, everyone is so friendly and ready

to chat about all things crafty. Even if like me you can't afford to buy much, where else could you get so close up and personal with so much delicious yarn not to mention all the other craft related goodies, role on next year. :)

  2. Great photos. I was too excited to get any decent pictures, and as you say it was very busy. The atmosphere was superb and there was so much to see. I did look out for you but with so many people around and so many distractions, unfortunately I didn't catch a glimpse of you. Maybe next year!

  4. I don't like crowds, so would have whizzed my way on through there to look at everything, take pictures, and then get out. Ha! You did good only buying the one hank of yarn. I've seen lots of photos of Yarndale posted on Instagram. The bunting and mandalas are amazing. And all those flowers. Wow!

  10. I was an exhibitor at the first Yarndale and then just visited last year. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go at all this year. Yes, it's expensive to buy things that someone has made but you have to take into account the time it takes to knit or crochet the item by hand.

  13. Before I forget, your squares in the previous post are wonderful! All three look quite complicated to me. Good for you for "almost" catching up ... yes, I think you can make up two more before Oct 1 ;)

The Yarndale photos are a real treat! Every photo had me wishing I could go to this amazing event. The baskets really had me! You showed great restraint in your yarn purchase, but I get feeling the same way when I visit trade shows. The prices are high for yarn even at the best of times. I guess we'll just have to figure out how to care for alpacas and sheep in our little gardens and then have unlimited woolly stuff available ;)
