Am I Crazy! ?

I'm going to tell you the facts and you can make the decision.  I have at present countless works in progress all at various stages of completion sometimes I get them down to just three and I think to myself that's a nice number to work with and then along comes yet another crochet/knit along and my head starts to spin with various  colour combinations and possibilities.
At present I'm working on...
The neverending totally scrap blanket.
The neverending totally scrap hexi blanket.
The Moogly Afghan 2015 CAL

I do love making blankets as I'm sure you can see and I'm really enjoying working on these and there really is no hurry for the first two they can be picked up and put down whenever.  The moogly one is almost up to date and there are only four more squares to make so the end is in sight.

I have just started working on..

A cardigan for me with a free pattern I found in a magazine, hang on I can hear you say now didn't she start a cotton cardi in the Summer what happened to that? well it didn't get very far I'm afraid I decided the pattern wasn't clear enough and I had no idea if the sizing was going to be right so it got frogged right at the start.  Now this one will get finished I'm determined!

I love the richness of the red and it's an easy straightforward pattern that I can do while watching TV.

Remember the yarndale purchase..
I have already started making socks with this and am getting on quite nicely.

So what's the problem, lots of things to be getting on with I should be satisfied BUT NO! not me I can't just leave it at that because I see this.....

The Greg Mystery CAL

I resisted I really did but what is a girl to do when it's going round and round in her mind and really won't leave her alone, especially when you have as much stash as I have and you just know that you already have enough yarn to do this.

Part One
Tom is complete....

and I'm about to start Joe part two, the next part will be revealed on the 12th October more details here I will be able to catch up I know I will but with this one I'm not so sure....

The Spice of Life CAL with Sandra over at Cherry Heart

I saw it loved it and really wanted to do it but resisted for weeks and then all the lovely works in progress pictures kept appearing on facebook and I gave in as I knew I would, I may be behind they are onto week four already but it doesn't matter I have gathered every last scrap of Aran stash I can find, although the pattern is for Dk I have decided that I love Aran weight blankets, they are lovely to snuggle under on a winters evening.  I'm hoping I can get this finished for a Christmas gift for someone I have in mind.

So there you have it it's obvious don't you think I have a CAL addiction, I also have lots of UFO's that I haven't even told you about but we'll leave those for another day. :)

Have you got a CAL/KAL addiction?
What CALs/ are you working on right now?

Hope you're all having a great week.

  1. Hey Linda, there are far worse things you could be addicted to than yarn! Just remember that! I love blankets and making them too, I so want to finish other things and just be making a blanket, they are the best thing to make I think! I hope that you enjoy all of your CAL's and KAL's and that whatever you are doing you are enjoying it, that is the most important bit isn't it! xx

    1. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that Amy, just think what great gifts they make if you can part with them of course. :)

  2. You do have a lot of projects on the go but you're so good at finishing things, I'm sure you'll do great this time too. Have you seen my winter project link party? I posted it on Friday. There are still a few days to join in if you want to link up with this post!

  4. So long as you're enjoying what you're making, then just go for it. Seeing other people's projects is always dangerous. I'm toying with joining in the Greg CAL, but I'm distracting myself by casting on plenty of other things. I have no crochet on the go at the moment - I really should rectify this!

  5. Hi Linda,
Wow you are amazing with all of these CALs you are working on and making beautiful things. I really love how pretty those white squares look. Happy crocheting to you!
Thank you for linking and sharing this at our Cooking and Crafting with J & J.
We love having you and enjoy the rest of the week.

  6. Wow! Whatever floats your boat, as they say. I have always avoided CALs and KALs except for your square per week challenge a while ago. That was about all I could commit to.

  7. Yes you ARE crazy Linda!! I think it was needless to ask that question to all of us other crazy crafters ;) I love seeing the progress you make on all your CAL pieces ... you make such pretty blankets! Love that "Tom" square, and you sure whipped those up quick!

I tried a KAL (your blanket square KAL!!), but failed at that early on I'm afraid. I'm better at working at my own pace or I get too stressed out about it. But I do have several projects in the works at the moment. I'll have to drop by Jennifer's to see the winter project link party. I saw it briefly last week and forgot to go back to investigate it further.

    Have a great week!

  9. I don't know how you do it, Linda! You're WAY more productive than I am.

That cardigan is perfect - where did you get the pattern? And the red yarn is lovely.

Good luck with all your projects! :)

  10. Hi Linda, You are always so busy and I am glad you make so many lovely things. I just keep on looking for patterns, pinning for inspirations but always end up making tiny projects. I liked the color of your new cardigan. So pretty!! Good luck with all the CALs:)

  12. Oh, you have some lovely projects on the go, one thing's for certain, you won't get bored. I joined in Winwick Mum's sockalong this year, that's the first 'along' I've joined in with, but I'm now doing the Spice of Life CAL too. I'm behind too but that's ok, I'm taking my time with it. Nice to meet you, I'm joining in with Jennifer's link party too. I'm going to go and have a nose round your blog now.

  15. The crazy thing is no matter how many projects you have on the go you will get them done and they will all be fantastic. I start cardi's all the time, no matter the time of year. I am going for at least two sweaters and a big shawl so I had better get off my computer and get moving.
    Hugs,
    Meredith

  19. It's a happy, harmless addiction and you get lots of lovely handmade things out of it. It's a great addiction to have I think! Love the rich colour of the yarn for your cardi. It's going to be gorgeous.
