I finished making this last week
I felt a bit lost when this ripple was completed, I enjoyed making it so much it went everywhere with me and I was quite sad when it was done.
Gentle Ripple shawl.
I know there are lots of ripple patterns out there but I liked this one because it was a gentle ripple with not too much zig in the zag if you know what I mean.
it's a peaceful ripple. If anyone would like to make one like mine I will write the pattern for you please just say.
It measures 110 x 48 cms
The tassels are 5 inches long and it took 280 grams of yarn.

I love making these easy shawls because you can be creative and make them in any stitch you like and it's not too big so you won't get bored with it. I'm making another already in another lovely pattern stitch and.....

DeleteI've been making scarves like mad and thinking about needing something new to work on. Shawls is a great idea! I'd love the pattern, but I'm not sure if UK instructions will make sense to my USA brain, you know? Still - I've done lots of chevron stripe afghans, so maybe its just a slight variation????

DeleteGood Evening Linda, Your shawl is beautiful, I love the mixture of pinks and grey... so lovely. I would ask for the pattern, but to be honest, I don't think I would be able to do it as it looks very complicated. I know what you mean about finishing a project which you have enjoyed doing. I find that when I finish a quilt, once finished, I have to wait a little while before I can begin another.... the enjoyment returns after a while, as choosing fabrics and cottons is always an exciting prospect.

DeleteIt is lovely Linda! I like the combination of the colours and when you combine them with the ripple, it all just seems to blend really well. You must have busted loads of your stash this month already with all the things that you have created. I wonder what the totals will be! xx

ReplyDeleteThank you Preeti, I made the tassels separately and tied the loose ends in pairs, then added the tassels where the pairs were so they all merged together. :)
