There are three things that are making me smile this week, the first came because of a light bulb moment really
I have been reading over and over again about the mood blanket that so many of you are taking part in and then I was reminded again last week when Debi posted about it. I love to become involved in everything I possibly can just for the fun of it but I thought it would be silly of me to begin something else when I have so many other things to finish.
Then it came to me a little light just clicked on and it all became clear. Its a mood blanket right? well I have decided to twist it somewhat in my favour. I have been making the 'never ending blanket' on and off for two years now....or could it be longer? anyway I haven't touched it for ages, why? because I'm not in the mood! get it? sooooo by my reckoning I have my very own mood blanket screaming to be finished and believe me there is still a long way to go. I have decide therefore to join in with this challenge in the hope that by the end of the year it will finally be completed.
So seven motifs complete this week..
and because I had this great idea
I was happy happy happy!
That's why I made them in red because red makes me happy, it feels good to be making this blanket again, I've been feeling ever so guilty, knowing it was lying there squashed under the bed... unloved... ahhh bless, it can smile again now :)
Smile Two
So the first smile came because of Debi really and the second because of Luna and her post here. I do love my clover crochet hooks and I never use anything else. The only thing that I don't like about them is their colour, they aren't very pretty really and I have to look at each one to find the size I want. So when Luna showed us her pretty hooks I wanted some too, so I used some of my Christmas gift money and....
I love them!
Nice and light to work with too and I know that dark blue is 4.50 mm and orange is 4 mm already. Every girl needs a spare set of hooks right ? :)
Smile three
The next person to put a smile on my face was Astri with the lovely donations she has sent to me to be forwarded on for the Syrian refugees.
Beautiful makes, thank you so much Astri they will be very well received and much appreciated.
I have said it before and I will say it again aren't bloggy people lovely people!
Have a great week! xxx

Oh wow I love those knit-pro hooks, I nearly always use knit-pro needles and always like you the cloverleaf hooks, I wonder if there is any spare funds anywhere to treat myself to new hooks? DH says "why do you need so many needles / hooks?" I just answer "why do you need more than one car?" and needles and hooks are a lot cheaper to run lol
ReplyDeletehaha good answer kate and I don't think they are that expensive either. :)
DeleteYes, you are right. Bloggy people are lovely people. I love it to get new ideas from my bloggy friends. I love it to get nice comments and I also love it to write nice comments. And I want these gorgeous hooks, too. But I didn't found them in my wool shop, grrrrr.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week.
Lisa

ReplyDeletewelcome to my blog zelna am going to pop over and have a peep at yours too. :)
DeleteOh yes, bloggy people are lovely people, definitely ♥ Linda, I'm happy with you that you found a way to love that sleeping blanket again and I'm already nosy how it will look in the end! Great package from Astri, super :-). Oh and the hooks, they look tempting. So colorful and all together neatly in a nice little case! Can you tell me if the handles are round or flat? I'm thinking about maybe buying them as well but I cannot work with flat hooks, so I better ask before ;-). Greetings, Nata.
ReplyDeleteYes they are flat Nata not completely flat but more flat than round if you know what I mean,:)
DeleteAh yes, o.k., I understand. Thank you, Linda! Good to know :-)
DeleteI think these hooks are a must Linda! Thanks for showing them.
ReplyDeleteAlso many thanks for popping over to 'SIBOL'.
I'm so pleased you want to join in!
Isn't time a problem though? So much we all want to do.
Have a nice evening
Love Sue x
yes you are right Sue, where does the time go! :)
DeleteNo wonder you are so happy> Asti is terrific isn't she? I would love a bunch of those colorful hooks, I too love Clover hooks, but they are indeed a bit drab.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Meredith
I wonder why they don't make the clover hooks in better colours, they are still the best to work with, even though I love my new one's, and yes Astri is a darling. :)
DeleteBloggy people are amazing people, and I'm learning that all the time. I think you have a great plan with your longterm blanket. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer, all I have to do now is stick to it. :)
DeleteSo lovely to see you joining in with the Mood Blanket, I love your first lot of motifs.
ReplyDeleteI too have the clover hooks and yes they are lovely to work with but I'm still drawn to my coloured hooks. Funny that isn't it.
Sally xxx
Thank you Sally, yes well I think it's so much more pleasant to work with a lovely coloured hook and I know which size each one is just by the colour. :)
DeleteCongratulations!....sure they are lovely...better when start using them.....I have being crocheting for the last couple of days with them and they are so light ...very good ...just like Clovers....but like you said....colors help you to define the size you are looking for.
ReplyDeleteMrs Astri corchet projects are always inspirational and gorgeous....lovely donations.
Your motifs are also cute, nice combination.Have fun with your new hooks " Knit Pro" ;)
Thank you for inspiring me to buy them Luna, I have started using them and I do like the feel of them but I could just gaze at the pretty colours too haha
DeleteGreat reasons to smile about :-) I am so happy to hear that you will be joining the crochet mood blanket. It is such a great idea to use this effort to finish your blanket. Brilliant!

ReplyDeleteThank you Jacqui :)
DeleteGood for you to get back into the blanket again ... glad it's put you in the right mood to move ahead with it! Your hooks are so pretty ... I've been picking up the coloured knitting needles whenever I need a new size. They're all retro and cool and make knitting even MORE fun! That's a lot of knitting Astri sent you ... wonderful contribution. Happy week to you Linda! Wendy x
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy, please don't tell me about your coloured knitting needles or I'll want some of them too haha :)
DeleteLots of wonderful reasons to be happy Linda! I have total faith in you that you will finish your never ending blanket! Use your lovely new hooks on it and maybe it will work up faster than you think!
ReplyDeleteps. I never received that email you sent to me??? I didn't want you to think I was just brushing you off....my curious mind was still wondering!
xx Shari
I will have to finish it now Shari because it will look awful if I don't haha I sent the email again Shari so obviously it's not getting through to you, I need to check your email address. :)
DeleteWhat a colourful post to brighten any grey ay Linda!
ReplyDeleteLove your hooks and Astri's parcel...and fab you have found a way to restart your blanket again.
Ali x
Ah, what a nice cheerful post! I like the motifs you are using for your 'mood' blanket, great idea to try and finally finish something thats been bugging you for a while. I find joining in the crochet along gives me that push to keep going with a project!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comments on my blog too!
I love the motifs for this blanket. Do you have a link to a pattern please? It's nicer than granny squares and I've not yet mastered the art of solid grannies.
