After days of persistent rain we took advantage of the one decent day in the week to visit Crook Hall Gardens in Durham....
This was the first trip organised by the new Garden Group which has just been set up by the Seaham U3A. We will be visiting more lovely gardens this Summer and I can't wait, what can be more pleasurable than strolling through beautiful gardens with the promise of a lovely lunch at the end. đ
If you have never heard of the U3A you can read all about it here, chances are there will be one near you. You can join if are over 50, retired or semi retired and I can highly recommend it. Make sure you have a big diary because you will soon be swept up into a flurry of activity, joining new groups and making new friends you will wonder how you ever had the time to go to work.
Have a great weekend.

I live in a small market town in North Wales and our U3A(Flintshire) has over 700 members and more that 50 interest groups.Something for everyone .I loved sharing your garden visit.
ReplyDeleteWow that's a lot of members and a lot of groups, our U3A is fairly new it was set up just over a year ago and has about 125 members but more are joining every month and new groups are starting all the time, I think it's a great way to pass your time. :)
DeleteWhat a lovely day out. That is such a beautiful photo of the peony, one of my favourite flowers. i have one in the garden, but it must be in the wrong place, as it rarely produces more than a single flower. I'm glad you are finding plenty to keep you occupied in your retirement xx
ReplyDeleteU3A sounds like a great organisation, bringing people together. The garden looks fabulous, plenty to see there.
