New Books

You know how it is when you get new craft books, you can't leave them alone, you just pour over the pages and dream up endless possibilities.  It doesn't matter that you are in the middle of another project your fingers are just itching to start on something out of the book.  I'm in serious trouble here because besides the two books I got for my birthday I got one for Christmas too. I have already tried some of the motifs, but I won't be happy until I get my teeth into a proper project.  Until I decide what that project might be, here is one of the motifs I have made.  I love it, a big flower I am such a fan of crochet flowers.  Now just imagine this flower motif  repeated several times over in lovely bright vibrant colours all joined together to make a huge flower blanket,  mmm maybe.

  2. Books and blogs are quite distracting. Magazines have that effect on me too... Thanks for the granny blanket joining tip! I'm still undecided but since I really love the finished look the single crochets give each square I think I may be whip stitching these squares together. Hoping for a bit of hooky time this weekend. Wishing you a very happy new year Linda. :)

  3. I think it's great that you've already started with the book, this flower was one of my first motifs, too :) A blanket would look lovely, I can also imagine a scarf, or maybe a garland.
Can't wait to see more motifs! :)

  4. I too have this book by Edie and it is definitely pour-overable (not a word I know, but hey - it's true)My imagination runs riot once I start going through my books and magazines. I got Finishing Techniques For Crocheters by Betty Barnden in my Christmas Stocking :D Another goody :D

  5. Hi Linda,

that is such a pretty motif and what a lovely blanket it would make. Just the right thing for a spring time look on the bed/sofa.. you know if you start now you could have it finished in time... call me a bad influence on you!! hahahah
