After finding that sweet little hedgehog in my garden the other day I've got the urge to make some. I have made them before and even though they might look prickly they are really lovely soft, cuddly and so quick to make and I must warn you they are addictive too.
I used eyelash yarn to make these, some of the ladies on loving hands made them in all colours, who says a hedgehog should be brown.
Kids love them and they are specially good for the shoe box appeal.
Here are my little blonde Hedgies

Now compare them to Hubert....yes he has a name now haha, I think they look very realistic :)
If I have put you in the mood for making hedgies the pattern I used can be found here and if you get addicted but want a variation here are some more cuties.
Aaaah they're so adorable :D I love hedgies, I wish I could keep them in my house! I might have to crochet a few so I can pretend I have a whole flock ;)
ReplyDeletexo,
wink
Yes do that wink, I like to pace them on the top of my plant pots, they look cute sitting there. :)
DeleteThey're so cute Linda. What did you end up doing with Hubert? Are you keeping him? :)
ReplyDeleteYes Debi he is under a bush somewhere, he could have been in my garden for ages and I hadn't known about it. I'm hoping that he will keep my slug population down. :)
DeleteOH MY GOODNESS!!! how cute is this!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this cute little thing!
Great job!
Shari ")
Thank you Shari, it's a pity you can't cuddle the real thing just love them from afar :)
DeleteThese are great!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kara :)
DeleteLucky you to have a hedgehog in your garden. These little fellas are very sweet. I don't know which shoebox appeal you support, but Operation Christmas Child don't allow handmade STUFFED knitted/crocheted toys in their shoeboxes.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I know a lady who is wanting these for another charity - do you know Linda of 'Chalkey's World' (www.chalkygilbert.blogspot.com)? She was appealing recently for a charity that she supports.
Yes Linda is a member of loving hands like me, we send shoe boxes to Blythswood, who accept small cuddly toys, also we are making bags up for woman's refuges and I thought these would be good for that also:)
DeleteThey are so cute, Linda. I am sure they will be well received, and will make many a child very happy.
ReplyDeleteOoh those little hedgehogs are so cute. You make me want to try them too! Have to see where I can find that yarn! Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! Barbina
