Thank you for all the fabulous link ups for February you are all doing so brilliantly with the stash-busting. I know there have been some naughty lapses on the yarn buying front but hey we are all human and as long as we admit that we are Stashaholics and can justify our purchases then that's ok it just means that we have to take the stash busting to a higher level. Now that bring me to the..
March challenge
Have you got yarn stashed away in some obscure corner that you absolutely hate or you haven't a clue what to do with, has it been lying there for ages and you always push it to one side and reach for a nicer colour or better texture when searching for yarn for a project?
It's time to get it out, shake off the dust and do something with it! I am challenging you to use up at least 100 gram of your least favourite yarn this month. I will be showing you what I have dug out and what I'm going to do with it later but first...
Your January Favourites
There were so many beautiful projects in January but these were the three you all loved the most so well done ladies :)
How much stash have you busted this month ?
I can't tell you how much satisfaction it gives to keep a check on how many grams you have busted. It's so easy to do, all you need is a cheap kitchen scale and a note book. Each time you finish something weigh it, put the date in your note book, name of project and weight. At the end of the month total it all up and if you like, leave me the total here if it's up there for everyone to see it will motivate you do do better each month.
My February totals are....1123 grams
March Challenge
So here is the yarn I have dug out
This yarn was donated to me and I don't really like the texture it has been stuffed under my bed for years. The price tag says 29 pence! so it looks like the person who donated it to me had it stashed away for years too.
I'm going to make a scarf for CHAS, it's one of the Loving Hands Spring Challenges you can read all about it here, why not use some of your unwanted yarn for it too it's all for a good cause. I can supply you with an address if you are interested.
March Link Party
The March Party is now up and Running and you can find it here...please remember to click on the other links and keep popping back because there are new projects to see every day, great for new idea's and inspiration.
Finally
Thank you all you lovely people for the very kind get well wishes. I have been quite Ill this past week but I think it was exacerbated by some very sad and disappointing family news I had received too.
I'm pleased to say that the flu symptoms are much better but it has left me feeling very weak and I'm still feeling quite dizzy. Hopefully it will soon pass and I can get on with things that have been neglected and really need doing. I'm hoping to get around and visit you all and try to catch up this weekend.
Hope you all have the best weekend xxx

Well done to all the ladies on their stash busting and all the best with future projects!
ReplyDeleteDo take good care of yourself Linda and don't rush the healing process - sorry to hear there's been some emotional stuff added in and trust that everything will be okay!
Love, Joy x
Bless you! thank you Joy. :)
DeleteOh Linda....really....the "old" stuff we don't like. You know the ones that are awful colors of Red Hearts deep black, purple, green and red....cause that's what is under my bed, in a box with yucky colors written all over it! My...what will I ever make with that! My mind is spinning for sure now.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you start feeling better soon. xx Shari
haha you will think of something Shari I'm sure. :)
DeleteI love those projects. I have been so bad, not getting any time to knit or crochet, I need to be a bit better with my time but the new little one is not all that keen on me playing with yarn.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
Hi Linda, glad to hear you are slowly on the mend and thanks for visiting my blog. I love the Shelly's scrap blanket, it's so full of yummy colour. Well done all on your stashbusting for February.
ReplyDeleteWow, 29 pence a ball .... that must be a few decades ago Linda. Nice to know the 'most hated' of your yarn stash is finally going to be used :-)
I think it must be a few decades ago Linda it's a long time since I have seen yarn at that price. :)
DeleteSorry to hear you're still not feeling well. You take care and get better! I have some "ugly" yarn that's been around quite a while. The two balls aren't that big. I'm sure I could manage a couple of ugly potholders or something! :) Sending you healing thoughts!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pammy Sue, looking forward to seeing your ugly yarn makes. :)
DeleteI hope you're feeling well soon, Linda. The flu is so nasty this year.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That's so neat! :) looking forward to stash busting for March too. :) Already have a few things planned.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the news. May God give you grace and strength.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Im sorry Ive not been around to say how sorry I was to hear your news stay positive and sending a hug and my love to you and your family - will be thinking of you and hoping for good news also sorry you have been so poorly you must be thoroughly run down and need a pick me up xx hoping you will soon be back to your old self xx

ReplyDeleteKatka
Hi Katka, for some reason your pictures don't come up from your blog, I have liked it for you but have had to add the full link address in the description so that there is a Directgov link back to your blog, but that's ok, I love your blanket. :)
DeleteThank you, Linda.
DeleteLove the baby hat...I'll be making one soon....thanks Mrs. Linda .....have a great week.
