Something for the weekend.

Baby Hats 2
The making of baby hats continues quietly in the background.

There's just something magical about picking up a little ball of wool, one that you thought would probably be far too small to do anything with and turning it into something as cute as this.

This is a super easy pattern, unfortunately the original pattern page link doesn't work but  I have it so if you would like a copy just leave me a comment and I will email it to you. You can find pictures of the hat along with some cute little booties here

These little hats took just 33 grams of yarn each, even less if you leave off the pompom.

From the stash of little bits

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Lovely hats. I enjoy seeing what I can make from little bits as well. I even enjoy the suspense of not knowing whether I have enough wool to finish a hat.

    1. Oh no Una I have to be sure I have enough that's why I weigh it and keep a record for next time, I suppose you could add in another colour if you ran out. :)

  2. Hi Linda, these look really warm and just so adorable! Love the pom pom on top, it just "makes" the hat!

  5. These hats are so lovely! Great pattern & colors. Thanks for sharing, Linda! I've saved the pattern now as well. Do you think it could be also usable for an adults hat namely for homeless persons, or would it be too lacy and not warming enough because of the little holes?

    1. I think it would be fine as an adult hat because this pattern is so easy to adapt, you could use thicker yarn, I used Dk you could try it in Aran and a larger hook, I would play around and experiment :)
