The Childrens Hospice Association for Scotland (CHAS) have a scarf challenge going on right now they are inviting knitters and crocheters to make scarves that can be sewn together to make a seven mile long scarf, approximately 7511 scarves will be needed to make this happen.
This of course is a great opportunity to use up some of your stash yarn for a great cause.
The scarves need to be 1.5 metres long but can be any width you like.
I really enjoyed making this scarf, I used thick yarn and a 6 mm hook, I have no idea what yarn I have used other than it was Aran weight and I love the finished result, it only took a couple of evenings to make. You can find the free pattern for this lovely scarf here a great gift idea too. It took 166 grams of yarn.
The scarves are to be sold off individually to raise funds for the hospice. If anyone would like to join in you can find all the details here, it's on going until the end of September.
Three great giveaways are happening right now!.
If you haven't done so already do pop along to Amanda,

What a lovely idea and gorgeous scarf. These events always seem so much lovelier by the nature of the kindness of people getting involved and creating. Not promising anything, as I hate not delivering, but I will see if I can do something for this event. Could you also link to the CHAS page for the scarves as I couldn't find it from the link above, please?
