I'm in Shock!
I've been doing this stash-busting challenge now for three years but I have never weighed my stash properly until now. The ladies from Loving Hands who are taking part usually do but because my stash is all over the place I couldn't be bothered to find it all and actually put it on the scale but today I decided and don't laugh that because I've been so good at the stash-busting maybe it was time to buy a little more and build my stash up a bit.
So I sought it out every little bit of it none of it would escape and this is what I found...
Five stash zones!
Small bedroom/study ...1693 grams
My Bedroom....14948
Summer House..1950
Sitting Room...5700
Under the stairs...5140
Making a grand total of 29440 grams that's over 294, 100 gram balls of yarn!
It's obvious that I have a serious problem here the funny thing is when I start a new project I can never find quite the right colour there is always some excuse to buy more yarn but..
IM BUYING NO MORE!!!
Lets see how long I can last out and how much I manage to bust this year.
The first stash link party of the year will be up and running on Sunday.

hahahahahaa, this made me chuckle. I am not sure I would be brave enough to weigh my stash! Yes good idea to try not to buy anymore, but who can resist?
ReplyDeleteIt happens without you realising...my stash is in an enormous cupboard. The trouble is rather than look in the cupboard, I look on line and buy more...sock wool is my latest! I look forward to the stash link party :) Barbara x
ReplyDeleteIt's a real sense of achievement when the stash starts to go down AND you have made some things that will help others. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of yarn (not that I can talk)!!! I know exactly what you mean about never having the colour you need though so what are we to do but buy more. xx
ReplyDeleteThat is some stash. I must weigh mine and see what I am hiding.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! That's a lot of wool just waiting and bursting with energy to be made into something. I hope your willpower holds out. Keep away from the craft shops... keep away! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a lot of yarn. I've got tons, too, but there always seems to be a reason to buy a little more. Have a good weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeletegood luck with the stash busting!
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless! Maybe you could take bets on how long 294 balls of wool will last. I'd say 5 years.
ReplyDeleteWow, I feel quite virtuous in comparison, but then again I haven't weighed mine - so I might be deluding myself that my stash is teeny tiny. It certainly helps to spread it around the house! Have a good weekend Linda. X
ReplyDeleteWow that is five lots of a lot of yarn! I hope that you will enjoy busting through a lot of it this year! Thank you for joining Five On Friday again this year! Happy weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteI've never counted all my yarn stash. I don't think I want to know!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can stop by:

Haha, I love this! Maybe you can open your own yarn store? But I'm sure you love each and every skein of your beautiful yarn. Enjoy your weekend, Pat xx
ReplyDeleteWow Linda, you do have a lot of yarn! Just think of all those wonderful creations you will be able to make this year! Enjoy the weekend. Julie
ReplyDeletewow, that is a lot of stash, and a lot of great places to keep it all. I've been sorting through mine today, doing some organizing. But who can resist more ... not me :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of yarn! I don't have anywhere near that amount - but it is dotted all about the house so I really must put it all together at some point. I will probably find I have more yarn than I originally thought! #fiveonfriday
ReplyDeleteHaha thats what I thought until I gathered it all in and weighed it. :)

DeleteThat's a lot of yarn!! Is your bed made of yarn ?;) I have stopped buying for a while and since I don't make blankets, I don't need to bother about dye lots.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should ask that Preeti I would say that the top certainly is haha

I would not call it a serious problem, you are a collector of fine yarn, how lovely is that!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
Lol, that's a lot of yarn... the funniest number is the one of your bedroom, wow! I don't know how much my stash exactly is but I'm sure the biggest amount is in the bedroom, too ;-). And you're right: There's never the right yarn to find when starting something new. And sales are a big temptation, too! I'm just browsing an online yarnshop's winter sale and what shall I say.... so many sock yarns I would need :o).
ReplyDeleteHehe!! This has made me giggle, good luck with your good intentions. Have a lovely weekend xx
